NZ beat Pakistan in nail-biter

Bridgetown - Ian Butler induced Abdur Rehman to loft an easy catch at deep square leg on the final ball to give New Zealand a one-run win over defending champion Pakistan in the World Twenty20 Super Eights on Saturday.

The win kept New Zealand in contention for the semifinals while making Pakistan's road difficult after two defeats in as many matches.

New Zealand 133-7 (Daniel Vettori 38, Brendan McCullum 33, Scott Styris 21; Abdur Rehman 2-19, Mohammad Sami 2-25, Shahid Afridi 2-29), def. Pakistan 132-7 (Salman Butt 67 not out, Abdul Razzaq 29; Ian Butler 3-19, Kyle Mills 2-33) by 1 run.
