London - Former South Africa pace bowler Nantie Hayward has joined Derbyshire until the end of the season, the England and Wales Cricket Board said on their website (www.ecb.co.uk) on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old, with 16 Test matches under his belt between 1998 and 2004 plus county championship experience at Hampshire, Middlesex and Worcestershire, will replace injured compatriot Charl Langeveldt.

"To be able to get somebody of Nantie's experience at such short notice is a timely boost for the team," Derbyshire head of cricket John Morris said on the website.
