Haider remains in hiding

Islamabad - A Pakistani television station says cricketer Zulqarnain Haider has changed his plans to return home to Pakistan after claiming he'd received threatening telephone calls.

Geo Television reported on Thursday that Haider has canceled his air ticket leaving Sunday for Pakistan. The TV station also says Haider has again applied for asylum in Britain after rescinding his application last week.

Haider told Geo Television earlier that an anonymous caller from Pakistan had threatened him, saying: "you are coming back despite being told not to come, you are responsible for the consequences."

The wicketkeeper fled to Britain from Dubai in November during an ODI series against South Africa, saying he'd received death threats from match fixers.
