Johannesburg - Graeme Smith and Jacques Kallis have both soared up the ICC Test player rankings for batsmen following their brilliant centuries against England in the third Castle Test match at Sahara Park Newlands.
Smith has jumped seven places to No. 4 while Kallis has gained three places to No. 6. Smith is now only three points shy of his highest ever ranking which he achieved during the series-winning Melbourne Test in 2008.
AB de Villiers has gained one spot to No. 14 and is the other South African batsman in the top 20.
Dale Steyn remains the No. 1 ranked bowler while his new ball colleague, Morne Morkel, enters the top 20 for the first time. He has gained eight places to No. 16.
Makhaya Ntini (8th) and Paul Harris (13th) are the other two Proteas in the top 20.
Kallis remains the world's No. 1 all-rounder. It is a position he has held unchallenged for a long time.
