Kallis: Advantage nobody

Centurion - South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis believes that neither side will have a psychological advantage in the second Standard Bank Pro20 match at SuperSport Park on Sunday, after England won the first by one run thanks to the Duckworth-Lewis method.

"Both sides walked away from that game (at the Wanderers on Friday night) - England feeling they had won it but not really won it, and South Africa feeling they'd lost it, but not really lost," Kallis told journalists on Saturday.

"I don't think too much will be read into it. I think it's really sad that the weather did come into it, because it was a game that was setting the tone for what will be a really unbelievable summer.

"So it was a pity the rain intervened in what was going to be a humdinger of a game.

"I can't recall a game where Duckworth-Lewis worked in our favour - it always seems to hurt us," he added, laughing.

Kallis said he believed the two sides were fairly evenly matched and competition would be hard throughout the summer.

"The team that can play the really big moments best will walk away with it - and the side that can apply the pressure longer," he said.

South Africa will make some changes to the team that lost the first match, as part of the policy of rotating players.

Kallis, who has had a side strain, will return, after sitting out the first match, although he will not bowl.

"We don't want to risk it in a Twenty20, but I should be fit to bowl in the first one-day international next Friday," he said.

Others likely to play on Sunday include Titans wicketkeeper Heino Kuhn, who will replace Mark Boucher, and Dolphins fast bowler Yusuf Abdulla.

Wayne Parnell is unlikely to take the field as he is still recovering from an ankle injury, and is being monitored on a daily basis.

Although South African-born star batsman Kevin Pietersen, who has been out of action with an Achilles' tendon injury is reportedly not being considered for inclusion in the Twenty20 team, he was seen practicing in the nets and there have been hints he might be a surprise inclusion in the squad for Sunday's match.

"We'd be very happy if Kevin played," said Kallis.

"We want to play the best team possible - that's why we play international cricket, and he strengthens that side a helluva lot.

"He has an unbelievable record, and he seems to lift England when he plays."

Eoin Morgan, who blasted 85 off 45 balls as he steered England to their best-ever Twenty20 total of 202 for six, said the mood in the England camp was very positive ahead of the second match.

"We're feeling pretty good," he said.

"We feel we batted well, bowled well and fielded well, so we are looking forward to tomorrow."

The match starts at 14:30.
