Cape Town - International cricketing sensation JP Duminy has been selected as the first ever Ambassador for the Children's Hospital Trust, the Fundraising Arm of the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital in Cape Town.

The Hospital is the only stand alone, specialist hospital in southern Africa dedicated entirely to children.

The launch of a formal Trust Ambassadors' programme provides the perfect opportunity for well-known and respected individuals to give back to their community in a meaningful way.

Trust Ambassadors are not remunerated and choose to give of their time to make a difference in the lives of children and contribute to the future of the country.

While Duminy continues to excel on the cricket pitch he will now extend his responsibilities to helping sick children who are treated at the Hospital each year.

As a Trust Ambassador Duminy will act as a public representative for the Children's Hospital Trust by attending high profile fundraising events and spending quality time with the Hospital's brave little patients.
