London - England cricketer Graeme Swann has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, his club Nottinghamshire confirmed ON Saturday.
The off-spinner, ranked the second best bowler in the world, was stopped as he returned to his home in the West Bridgford area of Nottingham, central England, the Daily Mirror newspaper said.
The tabloid said he was stopped round the corner from a police station and about a mile from his home.
Swann was arrested following a roadside breath test and later released on bail, the paper said.
In a statement, Nottinghamshire said: "The club can confirm that Graeme Swann was arrested in Nottingham in the early hours of Friday morning on suspicion of drink driving.
"We will be making no further comment."
Swann was named man of the series on England's last two tours, to South Africa then Bangladesh.
Nottinghamshire Police said: "A 31-year-old man was arrested on Byron Road, West Bridgford, at 03:23 on Friday, April 2 on suspicion of drink-driving."
