Bloemfontein - Alan Donald is again in serious negotiations with New Zealand after Cricket Australia appointed Craig McDermott as bowling coach.
The former Proteas pace bowler says the Kiwis are not upset that he also made himself available to the Aussies.
He had talks with New Zealand cricket supremo Justin Vaughn in London on Thursday morning and was happy that the Aussies had decided on McDermott.
"I always had a feeling that the Aussies would not easily appoint someone from outside," said Donald.
He and Allister de Winter were the other names on the Aussies' shortlist.
Donald will now probably be contracted by New Zealand. He was the country's bowling consultant during the past World Cup on the sub-continent.
New Zealand made it through to the semi-finals with a victory over the Proteas.
Should he be appointed by New Zealand, Donald's first task will be to accompany promising players to the annual tournament for emerging players in Brisbane.
