India set England huge target

Bangalore - Opener Sachin Tendulkar slammed his 47th one-day century on Sunday as India were all out for 338 in 49.5 overs against England in Group B at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Tendulkar made 120 off 115 balls to become the first batsman to score five centuries in World Cup matches.

Yuvraj Singh scored 58 and Gautam Gambhir made 51 to supplement the efforts of Tendulkar, who had earlier been tied on four World Cup centuries with Ricky Ponting, Mark Waugh and Sourav Ganguly.

Tendulkar displayed a wide variety of strokes, hitting 10 fours and five sixes.

For England, pace bowler Tim Bresnan bagged a career best 5-48.

Both teams have won their opening games of the tournament.
