Kolkata - Ireland's left-arm spinner George Dockrell dislocated his shoulder during the World Cup match against the Netherlands at Eden Gardens on Friday.

An International Cricket Council (ICC) official said the player had gone to hospital for a check-up, but it was not immediately known whether he would take any further part in the match.

Dockrell suffered the injury while trying to field the ball off his own bowling in his fourth over, which was completed by Alex Cusack.

He had bagged seven wickets in five matches before this game, including those of record-breaking Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Bangalore.
