Colombo - Cricket Australia says it won't choose a World Cup replacement for injured pace bowler Doug Bollinger until later in the tournament.
The organisation says it wants to weigh up the demands that emerge over the next few matches.
National selection panel chairman Andrew Hilditch says the squad already has adequate cover for Bollinger, and that the body will pick a replacement "who in our view will give us the best chance of success in the World Cup."
The delay could give Mike Hussey time to prove his fitness, after the experienced batsman was left off the initial squad because of a hamstring injury. Number four in the one-day international batting rankings, Hussey was upset at his omission.
