Full scorecard
Kolkata, who won the toss and elected to bat, made 137 for six in their allotted 20 overs. New Zealander Brendon McCullum top-scored scored for the Indian team with 40 off 35 balls, but it was Pakistan's Mahmood who grabbed the spoils, claiming three for 16 in four overs. South Africa's Jacques Kallis, back from an injury scare, was one of Mahmood scalps, leaving the crease without scoring.
The New Zealand team then comfortably chased the target down with seven wickets and 14 balls to spare. Mahmood was again the destroyer-in-chief with a brilliant undefeated 51 not out off 42 deliveries.
West Indian hero Sunil Narine (two for 24) was the best Kolkata bowler.
