CSA's forensic audit welcomed

Johannesburg - The Olympic governing body of South Africa (SASCOC), has accepted Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) decision to undertake an independent enquiry into alleged financial irregularities it announced in a statement on Saturday.

"It is important that cricket addresses the situation internally and that due process is followed," said SASCOC CEO Tubby Reddy.

Reddy confirmed Sascoc would not interfere unnecessarily and would monitor the situation.

CSA’s board this week agreed to re-instate its president Mtutuzeli Nyoka and agreed to an independent enquiry into the allegations made by Nyoka.

"CSA has given consideration to allegations raised and they are being dealt with in the appropriate manner," said Reddy.

CSA also resolved to institute an external investigation, including a forensic audit if warranted.

Sascoc, as per protocol, would be informed of the findings of the investigation and audit, and any intervention would be determined by the results of the audit.

“It is important for us that the audit is conducted in a manner that it can’t be questioned and we have confidence that this will be the case,” said Reddy.
