Cape Town – Johan Botha will be one of the 15 players announced on Monday by Cricket South Africa for next month’s Twenty20 World Cup in England.

Botha returned to South Africa from Perth on Saturday after his bowling action was tested for a second time at the University of Western Australia. Proteas assistant coach Vincent Barnes made the journey with Botha.

“I am optimistic. The naked eye differs, of course, from all the cameras, but it’s looking good,” said Barnes.

Meanwhile, as reported previously by Sport24, Jacques Kallis will be one of the 15 players picked.

He has played in only two of the Proteas’ 14 Twenty20 games over the past 24 months, but coach Mickey Arthur believes he can be of immense value in the English conditions.

The selectors already agreed on the majority of the squad last month, but had to make a final call on the 15th member at the weekend with Morne Morkel and Johann Louw competing for the spot of additional bowler.
