Arthur plots Proteas' path

Johannesburg - Cricket South Africa (CSA) CEO Gerald Majola and national coach Mickey Arthur are to make joint recommendations to the Board of CSA on the way forward with the specific aim of winning major ICC tournaments.

This was the outcome of Friday’s CSA Board meeting at which Arthur presented his report on the ICC Champions’ Trophy campaign.

“Mickey Arthur presented his report to the board and we had a frank and robust discussion,” commented Majola.

“Mickey and I will now work out a detailed programme on the way forward which will include putting certain recommendations to the Board on the progress and programmes needed to be put in place ahead of next year’s ICC World Twenty20 in the Caribbean and the ultimate goal, the 2011 ICC World Cup on the Asian sub-continent.”

Selection chief Mike Procter also presented a report to the Board.
