Cape Town - Shahid Afridi claims Pakistan could have called the police over the bust-up between Jonathan Trott and Wahab Riaz in the Lord's nets, according to a report in the Mirror.co.uk.
The England batsman and Pakistan's fast bowler traded insults then had to be separated by team-mates as tensions boiled over before Monday's fourth one day international. The incident was in danger at one point of delaying the start of a match.
The game was already in doubt following the claims of Pakistan Cricket Board chairperson Ijaz Butt that England's players deliberately lost at the Brit Oval last Friday - in return for "enormous amounts of money".
England captain Andrew Strauss has strongly refuted the accusations.
Pakistan captain Afridi said of the Trott incident: "When Riaz was returning after warming up Trott called him a 'match fixer' and that he [Riaz] was up to harming Test cricket and hit his face with the pad.
"It could have been a police case, because it is crime to hit someone."
