Luke, ons gaan jou baie mis. Dankie vir wat jy vir ons in WP beteken het. Dit was so lekker om jou te sien speel. Jou passie en erns en deursettingsvermoe is inspirerend. Geniet Bath, maar kom asseblief terug.

CONGRATS LUKE AND LOOKING FORWARD TO SEE YOU CAPTAIN THE BOKS BEYOND 2011 AFTER JOHN SMIT. ALL THE BEST IN BATH.

So let me get this straight, the player's player of the year award is selected by the players themselves, correct? So just out of curiosity, if Luke is such a disruptive influence and all his team mates ''hate him'' like so many of you here constantly tell us, why would all these same players select him for the award? Makes you muppits think doesnt it. I've been to numerous WP functions and met Luke and chatted at length with him on a number of occasions, he is an awesome guy, humble, down to earth, and goes out of his way to make fans feel welcome. I brought some friends with me last time, friends who werent WP fans, and they left the function as new WP fans purely because of Luke and because of the person he is. So congrats Luke, Currie Cup Player of the Year and WP Players Player of the year, you're a legend and we'll miss you in the blue and white stripes. Best of luck at Bath!

Watching you on that field this season was Great, I haven't seen my team so fired up in so long, I would also like to say you are a fantastic Captain. Congrats Luke, you deserve it. GOOD LUCK in Bath. You better come home soon, I'm going to miss you.

As kyk na die weglating van Joe Pietersen, Tiaan Liebenberg en veral ysterman Willem Alberts, voel ek ook lus om te kots op die springboktrui wat goedkoop gemaak word deur regstellende aksie

I wonder why Luke Watson not selected for springbok????N39

Getting a player's player of the year award in your Provincial team after Morne' got the 'real' one is like kissing your sister. Enjoy Bath (and please stay there)
Os11/4/2009 7:28 AM
Yes he picked his game up he'll probably be like Michael Catt who came back playing for England I wonder what the anti colonialists will say then. There are plenty of exciting players of colour coming thru who want to wear the Bok jersey.
Joan11/4/2009 7:24 AM
Well done Luke, you deserve it.

This is a joke....... WP lost the Curie Cup due to non existent discipline ( plenty x penalties, for the people short of memory). It is the Captains responsibility to maintain discipline. However, a man with no discipline cannot enforce discipline, How can a captain be a man of no discipline ? well.. thats why WP is where they are. (This has got nothing to do with his playing skills)

Congratulations & Well Done Luke may you go from strength to strength in your Rugby Career. All the best in Bath & we hope to see you playing for WP some time in the near future. We (Hubby & I) will miss you on the playing fields, especially Newlands.

Well done Luke. To be the Players' player of the year shows how great you are. I salute you and compliment you on your mental fitness. The media grind you and you just stand up and play your game.
Mark11/4/2009 6:13 AM
Vic, couldnt agree with you more. He had an awesome season.

Good for Luke, y'all in RSA need to get over his comments...he's an awsome player and he has his opinion like you all do right? But some of the things i read y'all call him are just plain nasty....but hey he's gone now, you can see for y'selfs that his teammates black and white selected him as their player of the year.
Deonic11/4/2009 12:34 AM
Well said Vic J. Somehow I think we have not seen the end of Luke. He was certainly an inspiration for the WP Team as far as rugby is concerned. One of the better captains in the country. We, the WP supporters salute you Luke.
Vic J11/3/2009 10:35 PM
Lets be honest. He realy got most of us all reved up. Not only his back ground but the Luke puke story was the pits. But all credit, he put all this behind him and put his money where his mouth is and delivered the goods and had a good season.
