Nagpur - South Africa thumped India by an innings and six runs despite a fighting century by Sachin Tendulkar on the fourth day of the first Test on Tuesday to go 1-0 up in the two-match series.

Fast bowler Dale Steyn (3-57) and left-arm spinner Paul Harris (3-76) shared six wickets to bowl out India for 319 in their follow-on at the Vidarbha Cricket Association stadium in Nagpur.

Harris picked the key wickets of Tendulkar (100) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who suffered his first Test defeat as captain since taking charge in 2008.

It was India's third defeat by an innings margin at home since 2000, all of those coming against South Africa.

The South Africans now need just to draw the second and final Test beginning in Kolkata on February 14 to reclaim their top world ranking from India.

The emphatic win was set up by Hashim Amla (253) and Jacques Kallis (173), who helped South Africa post an imposing 558-6 declared before Steyn picked a career-best 7-51 to bowl out India for 233 in their first knock.

Steyn finished with a haul of 10 wickets for 108 runs while Amla was named man of the match.

"It has been an outstanding performance from the guys," said South African skipper Graeme Smith. "To win in India, you need lots of discipline and the guys have showed it.

"There were a few special individual performances but overall it was a good team effort. It is nice to have someone like Steyn. To run in like that and bowl as he did was amazing.

"Harris also bowled well, he is not a fancied cricketer but he knows his role and has come back well."

India's lone resistance in the second innings came from Tendulkar, who smashed 13 fours in his 179-ball knock on the way to his 46th Test century.

Tendulkar, who hit two successive centuries during India's 2-0 away Test win against Bangladesh, defied the South African attack for close to four and a half hours before being dismissed in bizarre fashion.

Tendulkar tried to sweep Harris but the ball bounced off his body, hit his elbow and fell onto the stumps. He watched the ball in disbelief before trudging back to the pavilion.

The batting ace shared 72 runs for the third wicket with Murali Vijay (32) and another 70 runs with Dhoni, who was caught at silly point after staying for 144 minutes at the wicket.

"We were completely outplayed," said Dhoni. "Kallis and Amla batted brilliantly. Steyn, the way he bowled, he was the best I have seen of him in the last two years.

"In India on a track like this, you hardly see such good conventional swing bowling. We are on the back foot now as they cannot lose the series from here. But we will try to fight back in Kolkata."

Resuming at 66-2 after being made to follow on, the hosts lost overnight batsman Vijay inside the first hour of play.

Debutant Subramaniam Badrinath (six) edged Parnell to Mark Boucher, who returned to keep wicket after missing the final session on Monday with a back strain.

After the dismissal of Dhoni for 25 in the post-lunch session, Harbhajan Singh hit a run-a-ball 39 with six fours and a six to provide some cheer to Indian fans before curtains were drawn on the innings.

@Ingo - You're so pretty!
William Shakespeare2/10/2010 8:50 AM
@ @William Shakespeare (hey, pse use a username next time!): Yes, you are quite right - the Steyn Remover should be getting 10 wickets every game. A quota system should be introduced, otherwise the player gets dropped: 10 wickets for Steyn, 200 for Smith and 250 for Amla (and he must get them quickly or else... none of this record-chasing crap). Kallis must sacrifice his wicket on 150 otherwise he too is wasting everybody's time.

RSA cricket - loving the anticipation of the national team eventually wrapping it up . the world knows we deserve it. Feel the anticipation of "The Boys" bringing it home - tests, T20 an ODI - you know it's gotta happen - Bradman is waiting for it! PS The real Aussies know it:s coming - inevitable

 This was a GREAT victory. A sensational team effort!. Not everyone makes a fantastic individual performance in a victory such as this ons. THE TEAM has won. Next time around, Amla may make two ducks, and Biff will score a double century. This is what test cricket is all about. This team will go places. Let's just congratulate them and wish them well for the second test. To all the couch critics, go and play with your toys. India has, how many millions of people to choose a squad of 22 from, and we have, how many? We love our boys anyway, whether they win the second test or not. Graeme Smith, Mark Boucher and Jacques Kallis are the stalwarts in the team, and the younger players can only learn from them. WELL DONE BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
pdw2/9/2010 7:53 PM
BEAUTIFULLLLLLLLLLL! Moan as much as you want, our lilywhites were well captained. Let's turn up the heat for the next time, coz Biff's bois seem to relish being bashed by their own fans! @shakespeare - keep up the satire!
ronnie2/9/2010 7:05 PM
1 test does not make graeme smith the best captian in the world i still say jacques kallis will be a better captain than graeme smith but the result is fantastic and those aussies and pommies if you cant say something good shut up and go back to your countries

I am ashamed to be a female. I have never heard such bitchiness in my life. Oh, you're MEN?? well well. Come on, guys, rein in your spite and just enjoy the game. We played superbly. "Wickets win matches" is what the commentators always say, when we lose. So now we bowled India out TWICE. Celebrate!!! ps But i luuurved those Aussie jokes!! gotta 'hate' the Aussies. Every red-blooded South African sports fan must....
Warwick Schuurman2/9/2010 4:57 PM
Siyolo you are an idiot. Get over the lily white thing. We have been a nation where everyone has had an equal opportunity for the last 16 years, so if you were 4 years old when the first democratic elections took place you would now be 20, which happens to be the age of Parnell. So if anyone was good enough then they would be picked regardless of colour.
@A***Hole2/9/2010 4:29 PM
You are an a.hole. If you actually knew about cricket you would realise that to get those 25 runs at Hashims rate could have taken another 10/15 odd overs. A decision was taken to win the game (it is a team sport by the way) not about individual scores. Smiths decision has been vindicated, we won, he did his job. You Smith haters, grow up.
Mariette2/9/2010 4:29 PM
Joe ...why don't u just shut the f%$#k up and leave our South Africans alone....According to u we are the laughing stock of the world.....funny how u are going to laugh if we are back in the nr 1 spot....We have the best bowler in the world and as u could see in this match fantastic batsmen as well...Do i smell SOUR GRAPES from u.....U must be a Pommie or a Aussie to say that...hehehehe what a joke u are... Graeme is the BEST captain in world cricket...Dale the BEST bowler we have Smith, Kallis, Amla, De Villiers, Morkel...all excellent batsmen..Even Dale Steyn showed against the Pommies he can swing a bat...GO PROTEAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!.JOE....GO AND PLAY NETBALL....May be that will suit u

Well done Guys.. Pity GRAHAM SMITH does not like his batting records to be broken A-HOLE
aml2/9/2010 3:47 PM
Well done GS and co. You really played well, especially with the MA debacle. Amla deserved Man of the Match. He and Kallis set SA up for the bowlers to get stuck in and even on a flat wicket the bowlers did us proud. Still worried about our Spin Department. I would play JB in the next test, dropping JPD!!!!!

Zolani 2/9/2010 3:35 PM
If you actually wake up at 05h30 to watch the cricket you would have seen that Prince was given out off the elbow guard, unlucky. dont just read the score card. Do i believe he should open NO, do i believe he should be in the team YES, but where, As for Harris, Great job, blocking the 1 end so that they could not score, you put the pressure on and allowed the quicks to take the wickets, all in all a great TEAM effort Great captain Smith. and for those questioning Amla about getting another 25 runs in 3 overs, it took him 4 overs to get 1 run to go from 199 to 200, but if you watch,read and listen to cricket you would no this. well done team.Basimane (Boys)! Well done guys. However, I still wanna know why Tsotsobe does not get a chance and why is Prince being consistenrly forced to open the batting when we all know that he prefers coming in at no.5?
Proudly South African2/9/2010 3:26 PM
I can't believe what I reading. So many Anti South African Graeme Smith haters. Winning with an innings and 6 runs against the number 1 team. Priceless. All you others...no comment...
Pieter2/9/2010 3:24 PM
Amla, Steyn, Parnell, de Villiers - the future of SA cricket Smith, Kallis, Boucher - the players for today We need the "future" row to be fulled up, with 11 names! Then we will be the best in the World. We will dominate World Cricket.
Big Shot2/9/2010 3:23 PM
What dont you guys get about SA Cricket "TEAM"... Graeme Smith is not the TEAM, he's the leader of the team and if he doesn't perform we expect him to inspire his team to do so... We have a great team winning great matches, lets enjoy this time as a nation Period!
Ray2/9/2010 3:19 PM
This test was Amla's moment. 253 and not out, WOW! This is teamwork but Amla was just outstanding. I got the feeling that we are going to see of that in the future.
chantal2/9/2010 3:13 PM
What a fabulous match-this is why test matches will always be with us, I predict many great knocks with Amla and Kallis together and what a great team effort from everyone else Steyn, Parnell, Morkel, Harris and Duminy will continue to improve and Duminy Prince Boucher Smith and De Villiers will have their turn to get 100 plus Proteas are the best.

@Ingo - Are you kidding me? Please don't ever become a sport psychologist! Sport psycho, maybe. Yes, I "made sport" and yes, I am still "making sport", but I am not really interested in discussing that with you. Do me a favour: "make" like a tree and leave! @Everybody except Ingo - I am a huge fan of Smith's batting and even though I don't particularly care for his personality, I even believe that he is still the best candidate for captain, but I honestly cannot believe what he said about Harris! Even if it is the truth, it is uncalled for. Shocking shocking shocking!

Smittens has lost the plot. Should have given Hash a few more overs. Great batsman, bad captain. This was won by Hash, Kally, Steyn and believe it or not Harris. I don't like the wasps but i say bring in that chap Stephen Cook, you know, the son of Jimmy. Let Hash Captain, leave smittens to open if he can handle the demotion.

WOW! Real handbag stuff today guy's, don't hold anything back, tell us what you really think! Thanks for a good laugh guy's!! I think that Siviwe use to have his lunch money stolen by Graeme Smith when he was young, 'cos he certainly has an axe to grind. I battle to fathom why there is such a need to critisize Smith, even now in the midst of a great victory, any batsmen that averages over 50 in test cricket is a great player. One who does so as Captain even more so!! So please put your handbags away and lets make some real observations and have some real, pertinent and relevant discussions here, not the ramblings of what I can only assume are the people most likely to get involved in a road rage incidents on the way home from work tonight! GO SA!!
Eezy2/9/2010 2:41 PM
Ok, this is really becomming ridiculous, SA just pulled off an incredible victory that will definitely be spoken about for a while, and yet you still get the haters that are criticising GS for declaring when Amla needed 25 runs break his GS's record!!! If you had any know how of the game, you would have noted that the declaration was probably taken an half hour to late as we only got in 4 overs that day. If you gonna play for ur country only seeking personal glory, then go play golf which isn't a team sport. Amla deserved his man of the match award as well as Mishra was already turning the ball 90 degress on day one. WELL DONE PROTEAS!!! Now let's take this momentum to Kolkata
@William Shakespeare2/9/2010 2:39 PM
And what about Steyn? Shouldn't he be getting 10 wickets every match? And the 12th man was slow with the drinks. Off with his head.
Ant2/9/2010 2:39 PM
Can I take it from some of the postings on this site that we have some people here who think that sportspeople should only be chosen because of the colour of their skin? How absurd - this is the year 2010 guys! I agreed with Majola when he was upset about McLaren being picked ahead of Parnell and Tsosobe - but come on! We can't hate on our best batsmen just because they are white!
Just a Fan2/9/2010 2:38 PM
Well done boys.....victory in stunning style - without a permanent coach and no selection panel! Certainly adds value to Graham Smiths captaining! Boytjies have done us proud.

Majola is a wanker!
marco2/9/2010 2:28 PM
Well done lads I never doubted you to be honest.At one point though it did look like Harbhajan Singh was gonna make us bat again at the rate he was going and Dhoni's tactics to try and slow the game down and take time out of the day with his slow 112balsl for 25runs didn't work sorry.Steyn now has a very good strike rate of 38.9 runs which means for every 39 balls bowled he takes a wicket.Amla and Kallis's batting was also really terrific to set things up the way they did.Good allround team performance despite the recent K@k with Mickey Arthur and the selection panel sacking.Go on now boys just a draw should be enough to regain number 1 test ranking even though a win would be much sweeter.Cheers fellas.
gjd217772/9/2010 2:24 PM
Ha ha ha again, India thumped!
Ingo2/9/2010 2:23 PM

A hearty congratulations to the Proteas for an excellent game and entertainment, you make us very proud. It is such a pitty that some people here use this forum to vent their anger and racism. Fact is we, South Africa, has won and that should make us all very proud of our people. Some people here should take a page of the Indian book and show appreciation, knowledge and sportmanship of the game of cricket , but then again it is probably to much to ask for souls sitting with an inferiority complex that can do no better but moan about everything.
Centurion2/9/2010 2:00 PM
SA now have 3 batsmen (Kallis, Smith, Amla) and 3 bowlers (Steyn, Morkel, Harris) in the top 10 of the ICC test rankings. Incredible!
Highlander2/9/2010 1:59 PM
Congrats to the SA cricket team, a thoroughly commanding performance. Brilliant individual efforts from Amla, Kallis and Steyn, with the rest of the team making contributions with the bat, ball and fielding. Although individual performances are necessary to win cricket matches, it is the overall team performance that counts at the end of the day. This is born out by the fact that both Sehwag and Tendulkar scored centuries but to no avail. It will be interesting to see what type of wicket will be prepared for Eden Gardens in Kolkata. I expect it to turn square by lunch on day 1. Smith had better win the toss and BAT FIRST (golden rule). India may be strengthened in their batting department, depending on whether Dravid, Laxman and Yuvraj recover from injuries in time. If they are ok to play, the Indian batting line up will certainly be more balanced and will offer more of a challenge to our bowlers. That said, once again, well played SA and good luck in Kolkata.
A Man2/9/2010 1:59 PM
Sorry ,one thing i forgot to mention.. The record that Amla could've broken is held by Smith! the very same man who called for the declaration 20 odd runs before Amla could break it!
Boet2/9/2010 1:59 PM
Again! By all means; copy and paste, but just proof-read the damn thing at least once! The report starts by saying:"Proteas have beaten India in the first Test" and then goes on to say:"India still need 102 runs to make South Africa bat again and the tourists could well become the first team to beat India by an innings in their home lair on three occasions" and "India have debutant Wriddhiman Saha (4*), who South Africa can feel aggrieved not to have dismissed when a ball rebounded on to his body and caught the toe-edge of his bat before going to De Villiers, and Harbhajan Singh (11*) at the crease heading into the final session." Please make up your mind! Did we win, or is the game still going on? Second time this happened today!
peter2/9/2010 1:56 PM
@SS. In RSA provincialism is rated higher than nationalism. Always has been that way, will stay that way. It's one of the conundrums of living in a divided society. Disregard 90% of these comments, it always turns political.
A Man2/9/2010 1:52 PM
Well done Amla on being man of the match! tough decision though, with Steyn bowling brilliantly. Could they not have shared it perhaps? And on that thought, Funny how Smith declared just before Amla could smash that S.A highest test score record! I wonder if his Mate Kallis was 20 runs shy of his double ton,if he would have also declared????
Auzzie-ECC2/9/2010 1:51 PM
Take nothing away from the side but Biff knew very well that Amla was going to brake his record and what does he do ...declare! This guy is utterly SELFISH-SELFISH-SELFISH and it will surely come back to bite him soon.24 RUNS SHORT can you believe it! Hare-is had just injured his ankle...first boucher now him...boys I said it yesterday too, depart while you can or do you want the powers that be to push you? Spare us the egony b4 it happens...do the r-i-g-h-t thing.
@SS2/9/2010 1:50 PM
this is how us south africans roll - smith will probably score a hundred next test and be a national hero again
@valentino2/9/2010 1:50 PM
It is funny isn't it...when we win it is the bowlers and every one else contributions, but when we lose the blame purely sits on GS shoulders...we have to have the supporters with the highest IQ's in SA. (that is sarcastic if you were wondering). the guy is one of the best if not the best captain that we have had, accept it and move on...just go and look at the mans stat you idiot

Well Done Steyn and Hash...world class performance, Where is all the haters now? gotta love SA supporters, screaming to drop Kallis, bouch, AB, GS etc. saying they are not quality anymore, and then going silent when stuff like this happens....GO PROTEAS, BEHIND YOU ALL THE WAY
NeilA @ Phelon2/9/2010 1:39 PM
"SA will screw it up yet", not too clever now are we Mr. NOBNOSE
ash2/9/2010 1:39 PM
We in SA must have the most fickle supporters of our cricket team in the world. We slate our team when we win and knock them down further when they lose! It seems every person here wants to be the coach/manager of the Proteas. Sadly, most of the commentators here have never played a game of cricket in their lives, let alone have any skill to do any of the things the supposed "useless Smith, Kallis, Boucher and Harris" cant. Get real people!
GATVOL VIR JULLE SWAK ARTIKELS2/9/2010 1:38 PM
"India still need 102 runs to make South Africa bat again and the tourists could well become the first team to beat India by an innings in their home lair on three occasions. " PATHETIC. And this is AFTER you tried to fix your mess.
Gerald2/9/2010 1:38 PM
Themba was looking for a black-only team and got confused with Chris Gayle's team getting romped by Oz.
Ibie2/9/2010 1:36 PM
Now that the test is over, a day ahead...it would seem that our captain had time and SHOULD have let Amla bat on...
Stephen2/9/2010 1:36 PM
Well done Proteas by a wonderful performance. Special mention to Amla, Kallis, Steyn and even Harris. I cant post a picture, but to people like Reynard, Burgiesburnin, optimist, Siviwe and the like, heres my middle finger
jac jac2/9/2010 1:34 PM
i am sure somebody had money on this game - i wonder - i smell a rat!!!!
Centurion2/9/2010 1:34 PM
Great team performance...
Zippo2/9/2010 1:28 PM
@Themba & W Shakespear - Rather support under water hockey as actively as possible with a 100kg lead weight belt!
Satisfied2/9/2010 1:28 PM
@Danie - I agree 100%. Another change I would suggest is give Johan Botha a go in Calcutta. Harris is not test match standard.
Sox2/9/2010 1:27 PM
I'm with Ryan i suspect match fixing, the chokers miracles do happen.
@optimist2/9/2010 1:26 PM
I guess you choked "OPTIMIST"..... game is only over now and we absolutely KLAPPED India....Well done boys
valentino2/9/2010 1:26 PM
We won the test because the bowlers did their job, NOT because of smith's captaincy. If the bowling was weak he would not know how to "out think" a batsmen period. And is about time that Duminy is dropped because he is WAY overated, move prince to his position, and Alviro can open.
C'mon Kepler2/9/2010 1:26 PM
Now let AB open or bat @ 3 and open with Amla, move Prince back to 5. You guys are messing up the best middle order batsman in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bullet2/9/2010 1:25 PM
Well South Africa, you played as a team and everyone brought their best to the game. Whilst individuals delivered exceptional performances, it takes the entire team to actually deliver and win. Remember todays eceptional performers may rely on their team mates tomorrow to deliver the goods. No one is on top of their game 100%. Well done again. To the "nay-sayer", attitude is a crucial element to success. Think about it!!!!!
Siviwe2/9/2010 1:23 PM
We'll guys it's not over yet. India need a draw to remain world No 1, and with Smith in the helm - they can still do it (win the second test, that is). As for soccer, I don't comment on that cr@p. Smith is a poor excuse for a captain - he is not consistent, he can't make sound decisions, why is he captain?
Siyolo2/9/2010 1:23 PM
this is not a good result for transformation of SA cricket..........a lilly white team wins in india, does this mean we have to wait another 100 years for transformation to kick in? i certainly hope not!
Ant2/9/2010 1:22 PM
Well done SA! Well done captain fantastic Graeme Smith. Brilliant performance by Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis and Dale Steyn. Brilliantly backed up by Paul Harris. Can we now give kudos to the most successful South African cricket captain of all time? Or are there still some out there who think he should be dropped? Wonderful speech as ever at the end by a humble Smith - go you good thing you make SA proud!
JD2/9/2010 1:19 PM
hey guys that hate smith - he is irreplaceable. Didnt get any runs - but his field placing and bowling changes were superb. How many wickets were taken in the first over of a new spell today? Gutted Amla man of the match - thought Steyn deserved it - first seam bowler to take 10 wickets in a test match in India in 20 years! double centuries on the sub continent seem more a regular occurence. Lets get behind the guys - one test away from regaining the number one ranking!
Danie2/9/2010 1:19 PM
@ Themba and Mr Shakespear...lMAO...ja neh? drugs...drugs...
Lily White2/9/2010 1:19 PM
Amla being just 24 runs away from 300 should surely have warranted a little time for him to reach that mark. It was a bit selfish of Smith to call them in right then. I bet if he had been the one going for 300 he would have staid the call. Nonetheless, Amla played majestically and setup SA for the win. Steyn and Morne were fantastic. I don't know how anyone can think Tendulkar's figures are inflated. He has scored a century in at least one cricket ground of all Test-cricket playing nations, except Zimbabwe. Meaning that he score abroad as well, not just at home or in the sub continent.
SS2/9/2010 1:18 PM
Long Live Greame Smith, Dale Steyn , Jacques Kallis !!! Great on you S.A. I am an Australian living in UK and to see how little respect you guys have for your own players , makes my skin crawl. Interesting we rate Smith as a better captain as Ricky Ponting , we do you guys hate your own so much. Anyways great win.
Bjn2/9/2010 1:17 PM
Such fun reading all the stupid comments - Well done Hasim , Steyn , Smith and the team to win by an innings in India is superb
StuartW2/9/2010 1:15 PM
@Optimist...sorry mate, but how can India win if we beat them....you are such a "poepol" Well done guys, at long last we again bowled a top side out within 5 days....and that in India...impressive
Ollie2/9/2010 1:14 PM
Well done the Proteas as usual I am always behind our cricket team no matter what - Dale Steyn superb wickets!!!! Amla hats off to you and of course Mark Boucher and Jaques Kallis - actually the whole team except for Prince @ Themba what cricket match were you watching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trevor2/9/2010 1:11 PM
Well, now where are all you idiots that said SA would lose the series 2-0!!!!
Will2/9/2010 1:10 PM
So Themba what about your excellent knowledge of cricket in India!!!! We did it! No reason to question the captains decision to declare when he did!!! Go Proteas!!!! Sorry Themba!!!1
@@THEMBA2/9/2010 1:07 PM
Come on! Don't be so harsh on poor Themba, like his buddy Dubious Dillema, he's suffering fro FreeDumb!
@Themba2/9/2010 12:58 PM
Shame Temba, I hope you don't make a living out of being psychic. LOL.
@Themba2/9/2010 12:55 PM
Are you for real, wally? Are you watching the right game? The one where we needed only 1 more wicket to win by AN INNINGS when you made that comment? Do you actually UNDERSTAND cricket??
Amateur Commentator2/9/2010 12:48 PM
Smith maybe a leader but as a manager he is sorely lacking. Having Harris bowl at the tail and getting smacked all over the park proves the point - Smith once again lets the opposition get off the hook. Its time for Smith to hand over the captaincy and concentrate on his superior batting skills. As for the "PRINCE of Failures" - would've hoped that the new selectors would have dropped him. How many more times must he fail before he is dropped?
Mundo2/9/2010 12:46 PM
@Ryan.. Hahahahaha.LOL.. u made my day boet.. I totally agree with you. Harris went to go speak to the bookmakers in India and offered them half his salary to bribe the Indian players to loose their wickets to him.Errrrr Harris with no turn...
Themba2/9/2010 12:40 PM
We've just lost the game again. Thanks to our Captain Smith, we should have not allowed India to follow on.
gjd217772/9/2010 12:33 PM
Ha ha ha!!! I don't know if anybody has noticed, but we always thrash India???
Marius2/9/2010 12:31 PM
What a bunch of dof idiots commenting here to fall into the obvious trap that William Shakespeare set for you. He and the other guys in his office must be pissing themselves at your gullibility.
SA WorldClass Arm Chair Experts2/9/2010 12:30 PM
Just wondering where all the experts on Smithy are now. We must have the most talented amateur commentators in the world... drop Smith, drop Kallis, drop Boucher - you guys should all apply at Supersport and give up your day jobs :) or join us mere mortals and support the bys through thick and thin!
Etienne2/9/2010 12:18 PM
at least s.a should be able to salvage a draw out of this
@NeilA2/9/2010 12:10 PM
You mean they have a captain? And here I thought they were just running around aimlessly. LOL
Seeps2/9/2010 11:53 AM
gotta agree here as much as I love Biff I think he should've atleast given Hashima shot at Breaking the National record?? Dodgy Biff very dodgy bud
Danie2/9/2010 11:50 AM
Well done owens...what do you guys think of this: we replace Prince with Alviro and Amla opens with Graeme?????
NeilA @ Siviwe2/9/2010 11:44 AM
JEALOUSY, makes you nasty, if you hate smith so much I wonder what you think of our football captain?
Marcus2/9/2010 11:44 AM
I'd say a few people here owe Harris an apology.
Ryan2/9/2010 11:38 AM
U know it's match fixing when Paul Harris gets two wickets...
@William S2/9/2010 11:37 AM
You should be dropped in a deep hole for a while to teach you to be less of an idiot.
Matt2/9/2010 11:30 AM
lol william shakespeare, go troll elsewhere
das2/9/2010 11:27 AM
pls goodcat. what did 006 do? she couldn't score runs now could she?

@R2 My sentiments exactly ..

william and siviwe can s.m.b.!!!!!!!!!
R22/9/2010 11:05 AM
i'm not sure if i like the fact that smith protected his record score for South Africa by declaring when hash was 24 runs short of it ?
@William Shakespeare2/9/2010 11:01 AM
If you do not know what you are talking about, please shut the f!@#$$K up. Amla batted very well...By the same reasoning, maybe they should drop Kallis for never scoring a double hundred.....you're such a plonker.
@WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE2/9/2010 10:59 AM
your mother obviously dropped you on your head when you were born...plank!!
sensible2/9/2010 10:51 AM
@ William Shakespeare: YOU A F#CK!NG IDIOT !!!!
@ SIVIWE2/9/2010 10:50 AM
even though graeme did not contribute with the bat, he is Still responsible for every decision on the field, hence he should also be commended if S.A. can win this game. it seems like you do not know much about cricket or even being a leader and your comment shows that you are not very intelligent. Graeme Smith is currently rated as the leading captain of the decade..
Dave2/9/2010 10:40 AM
William , you have no idea what you are talking about , maybe learn more about the game of cricket
DOGG2/9/2010 10:32 AM
@Siviwe, Well said. Mr goodcat might be in love the slob(GS)
William Shakespeare2/9/2010 10:28 AM
Amla batted very selfishly, trying to go for the record. Fortunately, Smith spotted his evil intentions and declared before any more damage could be done. Amla should be dropped for a while, to teach him to bat faster when approaching 300. Smith should also be dropped for a while to teach him to be more consistent and not only get double centuries every now and again.
@ Arthur Symington Smythe2/9/2010 10:27 AM
Good comments. I agree with the inflated batting averages. Those "star" batsman are all clueless and very average on pitches outside the sub-continent - it includes Tendulkar. Most double and tripple centuries have also been scored in the sub-continent. India is almost as weak as Bangladesh when playing in SA or AUS.
Arthur Symington Smythe2/9/2010 9:53 AM
Indian batsmen averages are so inflated with the flat tracks they bat on. Flat Track Bullies. @optimist, boring a-hole - I hope you say something if the Proteas win - but being the retarded coward probably not
Sasha2/9/2010 9:50 AM
No, Graeme is still an idiot. We're in this position thanks to Amla, Kallis and our bowlers. Nicely done guys!
The Devil2/9/2010 9:50 AM
@ the optimist - and how do you see them winning? dont watch cricket much do you? maybe the will lose by scoring an own goal? no? getting 3 strikes? hmmm....?
Siviwe2/9/2010 9:46 AM
@mr goodcat. What has Graeme done? Nothing! If you love the man so dearly, why not sleep with him to boost his ego.
optimist2/9/2010 9:19 AM
India will win this. S A will choke again....
Lily White2/9/2010 9:03 AM
What a player! This guy has lasted the test of time. Still performing. on another note, I really hope they watch Parnell carefully and groom him properly. He is our future, and being a leftie will always be a threat. All that said, the Proteas are looking good. Morkel is finally showing the promise and results all the experts said he had. Well done so far Proteas!
mr goodcat2/9/2010 8:53 AM
Cmon S.A. you can do it..... where is all the S.A. and graeme smith haters today? you are all fools!!
