A SASCOC Christmas poem

The SASCOC officials went their merry old way,
Travelling all over the world on any given day.
Business class on Emirates, British Airways or Cathay,
But never with Olympic sponsor, SAA.

They told everyone it was their Olympic duty,
Ho, Ho, Ho - sounds like a witchdoctor’s mooty.
London was just one big party for the gravy crew,
Even Mbalula had trouble mixing work with Johnny blue.

The gravy train scrambled for Olympic tickets,
The SA athletes got slim pickets.
I meant slim pickens but you get my rap,
Our poor athletes are treated like crap.

Reddy or not, Tubby does what he sees fit,
Gideon’s head may as well be buried in a pit.
Tubby, Kajee and Mubarak rule with an iron fist,
If they’d only resign, would never be missed.

Ho, Ho , Ho - how did they get re-elected,
Easy when all good governance is neglected.
And if associations don’t vote the right way,
Say goodbye to your lotto pay.

Gideon said 12 medals in London or he’ll fall on his sword,
Tubby then tried to get Dr Khoza on board.
Nominate all your friends and your job is guaranteed,
That’s why SASCOC has a CEO who’s all about greed.

London, China, Holland, Rio – clocking up the miles,
How many more trips without getting piles.
And when Chinese manufacturer, ERKE calls,
At SASCOC, it’s kept between all four walls.

Suspending associations at the drop of a hat,
To get their hands on whatever is in the cat.
The legal bills just keep on mounting,
But at SASCOC no-one is counting.

Sport and politics is just a horrible fix,
SASCOC has so many politicians in their mix.
Why is it that the media turn a blind eye,
Are they getting a piece of the pie?

The SA Sports awards only cost R30 million and some,
A “tender” for a friend of the sports minister - ho hum.
It’s a deeply grained cancer in our beloved SA,
But how much longer can we survive this betray?

SASCOC monies have been so badly misused,
Santa, nothing for those who have abused.
South African athletes deserve all the plaudit,
SASCOC all you deserve for Xmas is a forensic audit!
