Bulls 'can teach' Bafana

Johannesburg - Carlos Alberto Parreira has called on his Bafana Bafana stars to emulate the spirit shown by the Blue Bulls.

The Pretoria-based rugby side have been the most successful South African outfit in the game during recent years.

And this season it has been no different, with the Bulls victorious in ten of their 12 encounters in the Super 14.

Ahead of the Soccer World Cup Parreira has said he wants Bafana to draw on the defending Super Rugby champions' mentality and display the winning determination shown by their counterparts, according to Bongani Khumalo.

"He told us that one should never come to South Africa and not watch a rugby game. He also said he enjoyed the fighting sprit shown by the Bulls and would like that to influence our team," said the SuperSport United central defender, who watched the Bulls tackle the Crusaders, along with the rest of the national team.

"He was quite pleased to be at that kind of game, seeing the tackles fly in as well as the drama that came with it. He also wanted the Bulls to win the match."
