Blatter: FIFA a happy family

Zurich - FIFA president Sepp Blatter has described the global football family as "united and obviously happy" approaching its annual Congress.

In the Congress agenda published on Thursday, Blatter said no member had proposed changes to the governing body's statutes before the set deadline.

FIFA's 208 member nations meet for two days in Johannesburg before the June 11 Soccer World Cup kickoff.

Blatter said FIFA would use its strong financial position to give money to members and confederations.

In March, Blatter promised to distribute $56m from FIFA's profit of $196m last year. Its equity reserves topped $1bn.

The congress is the last before Blatter stands for re-election next year.
