After Luke Watson’s much-publicized “vomit” comments regarding the Springbok jersey, his disciplinary hearing attracted vast interest. So it came as a bit of an anti-climax – regardless of which way the verdict might have gone – when it was quickly called off on a technicality because Nape Dolamo, the appointed presiding officer, could not hear the case in terms of Saru’s very own regulations! (The appointment of a judicial officer, it seems, can only refer to incidents involving matches.) It was also the month Saru unpopularly announced four-figure ticket prices for Lions Tests next year …
